Facing the Place de la Bourse, between Quai of Customs and dock Louis XVIII, this spectacular work, due to the landscape architect Michel Corajoud alternates extraordinary effects mirror and fog.

Regular metamorphoses of 2 cm of water on a huge granite slab transform the place, magical, in a permanent stage games for children, daydreaming for lovers, strolling refreshing in hot weather, feet in the water.

Here begins the erasure of Bordeaux medieval enclosed within its walls for centuries. Finally, Bordeaux released!

Since 1720 the Intendant Boucher works with aldermen and parliament to create a royal place and finally open the fortress city. His choice to enlist the services of Jacques Gabriel, First Architect of King Louis XV, be decisive: the rectangular square with canted, with facades decorated with gargoyles and wrought iron is needed to produce the classic city.
